John Duncan

Interim Pastor

John served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, Georgetown from 2007 until his recent departure to pursue his writing. He also served as Pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church, Granbury, from 1987 to 2007, Trinity Baptist Church, Henderson, from 1985 to 1987, and Locker Baptist Church, Richland Springs, from 1980 to 1982. He served as the Assistant Pastor to Recreation and Youth at First Baptist Church of Hurst in 1983.  John joined the faculty of George W. Truett Theological Seminary as Adjunct Professor in 2011 and then 2013 to present.  John has also served on the Board of Trustees at Howard Payne University from 1997 to 2004 and from 2008 to present and served as Vice President from 2001 to 2002.

He and his wife, Judy Lynne, live in Georgetown.

     John graduated Summa Cum Laude from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his Master of Divinity degree and then his Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He also received a Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament from The Open  University in Cambridge, England.

Associate Pastor/Minister to Adults

John Lassitter Minister of Music/Administration

John joined the FBC staff in August 2012.

He has a Master of Divinity from Truett Theological Seminary, and a Master of Music in Church Music from Baylor University in Waco. John previously served as Pastor of Worship and Adults at Ball Camp Baptist Church, Knoxville, Tennessee.  John and his wife Angie live in San Marcos.

Bob has been the Associate Pastor at FBC since July 1999.  He has served as a minister since March 1972 in churches in San Antonio, Lakehills, New Braunfels, Ft. Worth, Victoria, and San Marcos.  Bob graduated from International Bible College in San Antonio and attended International School of Theology. He and his wife, Linda, have been married over 50 years and have six children and eight grandchildren.

Clint Followell Minister of Students

Melinda Hall Minister to Preschool/Children

Clint joined the staff in July of 2012.  He received  a Masters of Divinity from Truett Theological Seminary.

Before coming to San Marcos, Clint served as Youth Minister at First Baptist Church, Valley Mills, Texas.

Clint and his wife Monica have 2 children and live in San Marcos.

Melinda has been the Minister to Preschool and Children at FBC since April 2002.  She has a B.S. in Family and Consumer Economics and an Early Childhood Endorsement from Texas State University.

Melinda is married to David.  They have two children and live in San Marcos.

Monica Followell Minister of Missions

Monica joined the staff in June of 2013.  She received a Masters of Divinity from Truett Theological Seminary.

Before coming to FBC, Monica served as the Assistant to the Director at True Vineyard Ministries in San Marcos.

Monica and her husband, Clint, have 2 children and live in San Marcos.

Casey Dailey Mother's Day Out Coordinator

Leslie is a BEI Certified Interpreter and is currently working on her Associates Degree in Interpreting at San Antonio College.

She has worked with the FBC Deaf Ministry since 2000.  Leslie is married to Chris and they have 3 children.

Casey  began serving as Mother's Day Out Coordinator in January 2010.  She served in the MDO program since it's opening in 2008.  She has a B.S. from Texas State University in Exercise Sports Science and a Masters in Elementary Education.  She taught Elementary School for 9 years.  Casey and her husband, Cody, have two children.

Amy Kennedy Mother's of Preschoolers Coordinator

Amy began serving as the MOPS Coordinator in May 2011, when the organization was first chartered.  Amy and her husband, Mark, have three children and live in San Marcos.

Lisa Livingston Financial Administration

Lisa has worked at FBC since September 1998.  She began as an Administrative Assistant.  In February of 2000, she became the Financial Ministry Assistant.

Lisa is married to David, they have 4 children and live in San Marcos.

Linda Alexander Administrative Assistant

Linda began serving as an Administrative Assistant in January 2008 after a 37 year career at Thermon Manufacturing Company.  She has a BAAS from Southwest Texas State University.  Linda and her husband, David, have five grown children and 9 grandchildren.

Al has been Facilities manager since the opening of our new building in July of 2007.  He is a 1972 Graduate of Texas A&M University.  Al and his wife, Betty, live in San Marcos.  They have two children and five grandchildren.

Risa Schneider Pianist

Risa has been the FBC Pianist since 1993.  She has a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Texas State University.  Risa also teaches Music at Wonderland School and gives private piano lessons.  She and her husband, Allan, live in San Marcos with their two children.

Leona began serving as organist at FBC in October 1994.  She previously served as a church organist since she was a  teenager.  Leona also teaches  private organ lessons as well as china painting.  She is married to Terry, and they have two children and four grandchildren.
