Mark Newton
Pastor
Mark has been pastor at FBC since December 2002. Prior to coming to San Marcos, Mark served as Pastor in San Antonio, McGregor, and Chilton. Mark is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mark, his wife, Aurelia and their two children live in San Marcos.
Bob Maas
Associate Pastor/Minister to Adults
Bob has been the Associate Pastor at FBC since July 1999. He has served as a minister since March 1972 in churches in San Antonio, Lakehills, New Braunfels, Ft. Worth, Victoria, and San Marcos. Bob graduated from International Bible College in San Antonio and attended International School of Theology. He and his wife, Linda, have been married over 45 years and have six children and six grand children.
Tim Lyles
Minister of Music/Administration
Tim has been Minister of Music/Administration since June 2003. Before coming to San Marcos, Tim served churches in Seminole and Clifton. He is a graduate of Baylor University and George W. Truett Seminary.
(M. div., D. min.). Tim and his wife, Lindy, have three children, and live in San Marcos.
Melinda Hall
Minister to Preschool/Children
Melinda has been the Minster to Preschool and Children at FBC since April 2002. She has a B.S. in Family and Consumer Economics and an Early Childhood Endorsement from Texas State University.
Melinda is married to David. They have two children and live in San Marcos.
Jack Byrom
Pastor Emeritus
Jack Byrom served as the Pastor of FBC from 1961-1965 when he resigned to become the President of San Marcos Baptist Academy. He served as president until 1996. Dr. Byrom now serves as Chancellor of SMBA as well as the Pastor Emeritus of FBCSM. He and his wife, Bobbie, live in San Marcos. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
Leslie Carrier
Coordinator for Deaf Ministry
Leslie is a BEI Certified Interpreter and is currently working on her Associates Degree in Interpreting at San Antonio College.
She has worked with the FBC Deaf Ministry since 2000. Leslie is married to Chris and they have 3 children.
Lisa Livingston
Financial Ministry Assistant
Lisa has worked at FBC since September 1998. She began as an Administrative Assistant. In February of 2000, she became the Financial Ministry Assistant.
Lisa is married to David, they have 4 children and live in San Marcos.

Jade Whelihan
Pastor's Administrative Assistant
Jade began serving as a Ministry Assistant at FBC in March 2003. She lives in Wimberley with her two children.
Risa Schnieder
Pianist
Risa has been the FBC Pianist since 1993. She has a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Texas State University. Risa also teaches Music at Wonderland School and gives private piano lessons. She and her husband, Allan, live in San Marcos with their two children.
Al Heinroth
Facilities Manager
Al has been Facilities manager since the opening of our new building in July of 2007. He is a 1972 Graduate of Texas A&M University. Al and his wife, Betty, have been married 38 years. They have two children and five grandchildren.
Linda Alexander
Administrative Assistant
Linda began serving as an Administrative Assistant in January 2008 after a 37 year career at Thermon Manufacturing Company. She has a BAAS from Southwest Texas State University. Linda and her husband, David, have five grown children and 5 grandchildren.
Leona Julian
Organist
Leona began serving as organist at FBC in October 1994. She previously served as a church organist since she was a teenager. Leona also teaches private organ lessons as well as china painting. She is married to Terry, and they have two children and four grandchildren

Mike Contreras
Custodian
Mike has been the Church Custodian since January 2008. Previously, Mike managed a bicycle shop for 14 years. He has also owned and operated his lawn business. He is married to Cindy and they have two children.

Casey Dailey
Mother's Day Out Coordinator
Casey began serving as Mother's Day Out Coordinator in January 2010. She served in the MDO program since it's opening in 2008. She has a B.S. from Texas State University in Exercise Sports Science and a Masters in Elementary Education. She taught Elementary School for 9 years. Casey and her husband, Cody, have one child.
Christy McElroy
Parent's Night Out Coordinator
Christy began serving as Parent’s Night Out Coordinator in May 2010. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University. Christy and her husband, Toby, have four children.
Dustin Bryant
Minister to Youth--Emphasis in Teaching
Dustin began serving as Minister to Students in January 2010. He is currently working on his Bachelor's degrees in Exercise and Sports Science at Texas State University. He has been serving in the FBC student ministry for 4 years. Dustin and his wife, Rochelle, were married in June 2010.
Atkins Fleming
Minister to Youth--Emphasis in Worship
Atkins began serving as Minister to Students in January 2010. He graduated from Texas State University in May 2007 with a degree in Sound Recording Technology. He has been serving in the FBC student ministry for 7 years.
