registered in San Marcos.

In 2000 and 2001, record numbers of multi-family projects came on line in San
Marcos.

In 2002 and 2003, new records were set for single family residential permits in
the city limits.

Four new residential and mixed-use developments are in the planning stages in
San Marcos which will create over 1,300 new single and multi-family units in
the area within the next 18 months.

Even during the slower economy of 2002-2003, over 300 new jobs have been
created in the Greater San Marcos area, and the Hays County workforce has
swelled by over 1,500 workers.
